Antonio Jorge, the only adult male of this name in the Revolt lists, escaped the Indian massacre with a family consisting of his mother and two sisters. He was descirbed in 1681 as a bachelor twenty or thirty years old, a native of New Mexico, having a fair complexion, good physique, and a broad face. A captain by 1692, he took part in the Vargas Expedition of that year; he accompanied the Royal Standard-Bearer, Don Fernand D. Y Chaves, in leading the ceremonial parade in Conquest of Santa Fe. A Sargento Mayor in 1694, Antonio married Catalina De Espinola in Santa Fe on December 28;here he gave his parents' names as Antonio Jorge De Vera and Gertrudis Baca, both natives of New Mexico and deceased; he declared that he was fory years old, single so far, and a native of El Almao, five leagues from Santa Fe. The following year less than eight months after the he was dead. From a subsequent marriage document of his widow we know that he burried at Santa Cruz. (origins pg 51)
