General Notes:
Discussion as to whether Teresa is the daughter of Pedro Sanchez and Micaela Quintana:
I have found no conclusive evidence connecting Teresa to Pedro Sanchez and Micaela Quintana as their daughter. No baptism record has been located for Teresa, nor are her parents recorded in the marriage record for she and Juan Bustos, nor are her parents recorded as such in any of the baptisms of her children. Teresa's identity as a daughter of Pedro Sanchez and Micaela Quintana is based on the many times her name appears in association with them, and known members of their family.
When Teresa and Juan Bustos married, the witnesses were Francisco Sanchez and Ysabel Pacheco. Francisco is a known son of Pedro and Micaela.
When Teresa's son, Joseph Antonio, was baptized, Pedro Sanchez and Micaela Quintana were the godparents.
When Teresa's daughter, Maria Micaela, was baptized, Juan Ygnacio Mestas and Maria Sanchez were the godparents. Pedro Sanchez and Micaela Quintana had a daughter named Maria. Most likely, the same person.
Teresa and her husband, Juan Bustos, acted as godparents for Barbara Josepha Madrid, daughter of Christoval Madrid and Margarita Sanchez. Pedro Sanchez and Micaela Quintana had a daughter named Margarita. Most likely, the same person.
In the 1790 Census, Margarita Sanchez, age 64 and a widow, is living next to Juan Bustos and Teresa Sanchez.
In the 1750 Census, Pedro Sanchez is recorded with his wife, and six children in his household. Ten individuals have ben identified as his and Micaela's children. Of these ten, by 1750, Francisco and Teresa are known to have married, Antonia and Joseph Antonio are known to have died, leaving the following six still in the household: Getrudes Antonia, Maria Margarita, Miguel, Maria, Bernardo Antonio, and Antonia Theresa.
Teresa married Juan Bustos on 24 May 1746 in Santa Cruz, New Mexico.275 (Juan Bustos was buried on 2 Feb 1803 in Santa Cruz, New Mexico 276.)
