DEATH:Juan Morones de Caceres;witness;age 28;testifed that on the way up from El Paso Norte, in Feb. of 1693, with droves belonging to the Gov. and Capt. General, the escort and travelers ran into an Apache ambush at El Paraje del agua Escondido;here Alonso Garcia De Noriega was pierced in a kidney by an arrow, and he died at the abandoned pueblo of Sevilleta where he was buried. Alonso Garcia De Noriega II, "El Moso" passed muster in 1681 as a native of New Mexico, married, and thirty years old;he was swarthy and pockmarked, with a large nose and long straight hair. He took part in the Otermin Campign as a very useful Alferez, and is not to be coused withthe youth, Alonso Garcia who also figured in it. Alonso took part in the Reconquest of New Mexico by Vargas in 1692 and 1693. From other documents of the period we learn that his wife was Ana Jorge De Vera. His second wife was Maria Luisa Godines, whom he married some time after the reconquest, and whom he left a widdow when he was wounded by an Apche arrow, sometime before of during the road from Guadalupe del Paso to Santa Fe at the Paraje del Agua Escondida;he died at Sevilleta. Alonso married Ana Jorge De Vera, daughter of Antonio Jorge and Gertrudis Baca, about 1679 in , NM. (Ana Jorge De Vera was born about 1654 in Santa Fe, Santa Fe, NM and died before 19 Oct 1694 in El Paso Norte, NM.)
