"Luis Marin serrano, brother of Hernan, was disliked by Bovernor Mendizabal for his friendship with the friars; he also accused Luis of being the man who broke down the door when Bovernor Rosas was assassinated. He lived at La Canada, where he allegedly hid an illegitiate child of Governor Manso before it was spirited off to Mexico City." "His wife was Catalina de Salazar, who was a widow by 1663. At this time we learn that Luis had been the Alcalde Mayor and Captain of the Tewa jurisdiction. Luis' descendants can be distinguished from those of his brother Hernan because they sometimes appended her Salazar name to that of their father." (Origins, p.72)

Luis married Catalina Salazar, daughter of Sebastian Rodriguez De Salazar and Luisa Dias.
