Agustin was a blind interpreter, "proficient in his mother's tongue," who reported the impending Indian resistance late in December, 1693, while Vargas was waiting for the Tanos to vacate Santa Fe. He was helped to safety by Miguel Lujan. (Origins, p.279)
Agustin married Felipa De Gamboa, daughter of Juan De Gamboa and Lucia Martin Barba. (Felipa De Gamboa was born about 1666 in New Mexico 274 and was buried on 6 Feb 1756 in San Juan, New Mexico 274.)
