Juana De Anaya Almazon
"Juana de Anaya Almazan returned to New Mexico in 1693 with her two sons, Alonso and Andres, and five daughters. When the Indians rebelled again in 1696, she was killed at San Ildefanso with Fathers Corvera and Moreno. With her died Alonso, while Andres was massacred at Nambe, thus ending the male line of this family. Two daughters were also killed, Leonor, married to Pedro Sanchez, with a daughter and a son of her own, and Rosa, who was still single." (Origins, p.11) Juana married Ignacio Baca, son of Alonso Baca and Unknown. (Ignacio Baca was born about 1657 in New Mexico 74.) |
