Sebastian Gonzalez

"Sebastian Gonzalez is first mentioned in 1626 as an Alferez of Portuguese birth. He said he was forty years old in 1632, a resident of Santa Fe, and father-in-law of Diego Garcia, brother of Juan Garcia [Holgado]. He was one of the four Regents of New Mexico in 1642, when he gave his age as forty-five. His wife was Isabel Bernal, daughter of Juan Griego and Pascuala Bernal. She and her family did not get along very well with her brother-in-law Domingo Gonzalez, founder of the Lobon group. ....the children of this family....though first cousins to the Gonzalez Lobon family, formed a distinct clan, identified for generations with that of "Los Griegos.""
