Entry from family records kept by Manulita(wife) shows that his
padrinos were Ramon Martinez y Valdez and Dolores Rodriquz.

Witnesses: Jose Reyes Casias and Apolonia Valdez.
A family story is told of Manual, that when he was eleven or twelve
years old, as remembered by one daughter or seven years old as remembered
by another, he made the trip on horseback from where he was living at
San Luis to the Chama area to live with his Padrinos. Traveling the
whole distance by himself, riding a white horse.
When Manuel died at Olathe,Colorado he was at the home of his daughter
Annie Quintana. His buriel was to be at the family buriel plot in Chama,
so his Grandson,Fred Chavez,transported him there from Olathe.
Manuel married Maria Manuela Medina, daughter of Jose Pablo Medina and Casimira Romero, on 20 Apr 1900 in Walsenburg, Huerfano, Colorado. (Maria Manuela Medina was born on 4 Jun 1885 in Cucharas, Huerfano, Colorado, christened on 21 Jun 1885 in Walsenburg, Huerfano, Colorado, died on 24 Dec 1972 in Pueblo, Pueblo, Colorado and was buried on 28 Dec 1972 in Chama, Huerfano, Colorado.)
