ORIGINS;PG 88;adopted son
Nicolas Perez de Bustillo, adopted son if Simon, played a brief and tragic political role. Involved in the murder of Governor Rosas, he was one of the men beheaded in 1643;among these were his double-uncle, Antonio Baca, and his close cousins, Juan De Archuleta, Diego Marquez, and Juan Ruiz De Hinojose. Nicolas was a mestizo, a natural son of one of Simon's sisters or his own. In 1642 he declared that he was related to Nicolas Ortiz's wife on her father's side. There were no people of this name left in New Mexico when the Pueblos rebelled in 1680. (origins pg 88)
